Today was my first time to Char Burger. The parking lot was empty, so I was at first concerned that either they weren't open, or they weren't very good. I was wrong on both counts. They were, in fact, open. Several patrons came in with all but 1 getting orders to go. The interior of the building reminded me of an old fashioned burger place. It was dated, but clean and a bit nostalgic. I ordered a cheese burger with some onion rings. I had to wait a bit because they cook everything to order. The burger had a great flavor, and the onion rings were fantastic. I do wish I'd ordered a double meat cheeseburger because the patties were on the small side - I'm guessing 1/4 lb. The only criticism I have is the person making my drink scooped my cup through the ice machine - a big no-no in restaurants. For sanitation reasons they should always use an ice scoop. I'm not a germaphobe so I didn't worry about it, but it details like that that can lead to issues with inspectors or getting customers sick. When I'm in the mood for a good hamburger, I'll definitely go back.
